Subject: I need Strat advice

I have been playinf 40+ years. I have owned many many guitars
including some Fenders (mostly Telecasters) but have never been a
Fender guy. I tend to like Gibsons and what I would call Gibson "type"
guitars...Hamers, some Carvins, Yamahas, well Steinbergers (not Gibson
or Fender like) and just a hodgepodge of "weird" stuff. I have and
will always remain a contrarian ;-) Anyway......I've kind of decided
that I want a strat. I need one guitar for the once in awhile Fender
sound that only a Fender can nail down, and I occassionally need a
whammy bar. I would like to know what the usual weight is on a strat
AND are there any particular strats that might generally weigh less
than others and still feel and sound like a strat. I had bought and
sold a couple of MIM strats last year and they were surprisingly nice
to me. I don't care if it's Japan, Mexico, Korea or American...and
more than likely I will be buying used. What do you all think is best
for me?
