I don't care where the song Voodoo Chile evolved from, it may have
been influenced by this or that, but it is not a direct copy, and yes
all things & ideas evolve, and Voodoo Chile evolved so much it's
nothing at all like Catfish Blues by Muddy Waters. It's like Night &
Day.
Yes alot of other people do covers, SRV is not the only one. I never
said he was.
In fact Muddy Waters & Howlin Wolf and Albert King and probably every
Bluesman you can think of has recorded cover songs.
The difference is, I give all the old Bluesmen like them a free pass
to do those covers, that was back in the old days, it didn't matter
back then, it was different.
When SRV came onto the scene there was no purpose to hear him do his
versions of Howlin Wolf songs.
NOw he's dead, and his legacy is just a majority of cover songs.
If I compare SRV to Howlin Wolf & Willie Dixon, I will always say
Willie & Wolf are the best, they wrote and did the songs first, it's
more authentic and real coming from the originators than the imitators
like SRV.
You forget, I'm not here to change anyones opinon of SRV, I don't care
who likes SRV and who don't, all I care about is me and the promotion
of my CD, which unlike SRV and most others, mine consists of NO cover
songs, all the songs on my CD were written & composed by ME. That is
the contrast.
That's all I'm here for, it's not a debate.
